Oasis Family Support Group
Oasis Recovery Center is proud to host weekly virtual group meetings for family members of current and past clients.
At Oasis Recovery Center, we know the heartache, confusion, and uncertainty that often accompany a loved one’s struggle with addiction. Addiction has effects that reach far beyond just the person battling substance use. It deeply impacts their family members and loved ones. This is why we offer an inviting, online family support group and family counseling the families and loved ones of those currently navigating and battling addiction.
Group Expectations
- Respect is a must. This is a great opportunity to understand others.
- Be aware of what you say. Be mindful of labels and terms that could be offensive.
- We are a support group for family members- all pathways are welcome!
- The goal is not to give each other advice but to support and listen.
- If you want to give feedback to another family, please ask before doing so.
- When someone is speaking, please check if your mic is muted to be respectful.
- If you have an interruption during the group, please turn your camera off.
- Please refrain from going into detail about substances or forms of substance use as they may be triggering for others.
Our Family Support Group is directed by a trained, compassionate clinician with ample experience in addiction recovery and how it affects family members. Members share their experiences, insight, and moral support in a safe, confidential environment amongst others who truly understand what they are going through. Whether you are a parent, spouse, sibling, or other family member, this group is a rare opportunity to connect with people treading a similar path.
The support you receive through our group can give you the care that you deserve. The sessions are run in a way where every participant is invited in turn to speak, creating a space for them to express themselves before being heard and respected. We focus on being a sounding board, offering support, and also working with you on tools that could assist you with the process of standing by your loved ones that are dealing with addiction.
